Auditions for the Summer 2010 Musicals
Auditions for the three 2010 summer musicals at The Weekend
Theater approach!
The three musicals are:
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Director, Andy Hall;
Music Director, Steve Whaley
Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 10 a.m. and again on Sunday,
March 21st at 5 p.m. You only have to attend one of the times. During the
auditions, first everyone will sing a song that they prepare. Then we will have readings
from the scripts. The scripts will not be available before the auditions. Please be aware
that since there is nudity in HAIR, only people 18 years of age and older will be cast in
that show.

All shows will perform on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at
2:30 p.m. The first two shows will have four week runs. It is possible that we will be
adding a fifth week to HAIR. It is also possible that we will add Thursday night
performances if the shows sell very well. The third show will run two weeks, with
scheduled shows on Thursdays at 7:30 as well as the regular weekend performances.
If you cannot attend all dress rehearsals, brush-ups, and performances, please respect
your fellow actors and tell us, so you will not be cast.
If you are interested in auditioning, please just show up at The Weekend Theater at 7th
and Chester streets in Little Rock at 10 a.m. On Saturday morning, March 20th or Sunday
evening, March 21st at 5 p.m. Bring some sheet music to sing us a song. Our resident music
director, Lori Isner, will be present to accompany you as you sing. Also, the music
director of SPELLING BEE, Steve Whaley, will be available as well. If you do not have a
song to bring, just sing happy birthday for us! You do not have to a practiced singer!
Auditions for musicals can last up to 4 or even 5 hours, so please bring lots of time and
patience with you! ;-)
* JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will cast those 16 and above only.
* HAIR and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will cast those 18 years and above
only.
* The nudity in HAIR is voluntary and we will show no frontal nudity, as the liquor laws
forbid it in our theater.
* The director of HAIR asked me to request that you do not cut your hair.
