Auditions Announced
We're looking for a lot of knights, peasants,
dancing girls, demigoddesses, vorpal bunnies, black knights, enchanters and a grail. But
seriously, we probably will cast seven male principal roles, most of whom will play
multiple parts as they did in the original movie and on Broadway; a female principal role
with a strong pop singing voice; and an ensemble of 4-5 men and 4-5 women. All auditoners
should be at least 17 years old. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of music and bring
their sheet music so they can be accompanied by piano. They should also be able to move
and dance a bit, speak in an English accent and be silly. It's a comedy! Join us for what
promises to be a hilarious time for all concerned!
Auditions will be at The Weekend Theater on Saturday, May 25, at 10:00 am, and again on
Sunday, May 26, at 6:00 pm. You only need to attend one of these times. During the
auditions, first everyone will sing the song they have prepared. Then we will have
readings from the scripts. Scripts will not be available before the auditions. At some
time during the auditions, the choreographer will take those who want to dance into the
lobby for dance auditions.
Rehearsal and performance dates are as follows:
| SHOW |
REHEARSALS |
PERFORMANCES |
| Monty Pythons Spamalot |
June 8 July 11 |
July 12 July 28 |
Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm. It is possible
that we will add some Thursday night shows if tickets sell very well.
If you cannot attend all dress rehearsals, brush-ups and performances, please respect your
fellow actors and tell us, so you will not be cast. But remember that you are still
welcome to audition, as it is always good to practice auditioning!
