“Avenue Q” Auditions Announced

The Weekend Theater announces auditions for Avenue Q on Monday, April 15, from 6-9:30 p.m. at The Weekend Theater, 7th and Chester streets, Little Rock.

Callbacks will be on Monday, April 22, at 6 p.m.

Bring sheet music and be prepared to sing 32 bars of a song.

Show dates are June 14-30 with possible extension to July 7. Rehearsals start May 4.
John Isner will direct Avenue Q, and Lori Isner will be the musical director.

Puppet experience is helpful but not required.
Must be 18 or older to audition.

PUPPET CHARACTERS
Princeton – a fresh-faced kid just out of college
Kate Monster – a kindergarten teaching assistant, a bit older than Princeton
Nicky – a bit of a slacker, who lives with Rod
Rod – A Republican investment banker with a secret
Trekkie Monster – a reclusive creature obsessed with the Internet
Lucy – a vixenish vamp with a dangerous edge
The Big Idea Bears – 2 snuggly, cute teddy bear types
Mrs. T – ancient, Kate’s boss

HUMAN CHARACTERS
Brian – a laid back guy married to Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve – a therapist who moved here from Japan
Gary Coleman – Yes, THAT Gary Coleman. He lives on the Avenue, too. He’s the superintendent.

Video auditions will be accepted for those who cannot attend auditions in person. Video should include a brief introduction about yourself and 16-32 bars of a song. Email submissions to TWT Artistic Director Duane Jackson at hduanejackson@gmail.com
