The Weekend Theater could not be prouder to have brought to our stage a show of such significance, power, and beauty. James and Henry’s love, Aunt Mama and Mattie’s strength and desire for freedom, Isabel’s period-typical hatefulness, were brought to life with such truth and honor for the play and the characters.
It was the true honor of The Weekend Theater to be able to perform this show on our stage, as well as extend the show into the beginning of Black History Month! The story of Black Americans and their oppression, their struggle, their strength and their love, is the story of America.
