Duane Jackson Steps Down as TWT Artistic Director

We’re sad to announce that Duane Jackson has stepped down as our Artistic Director, but we look forward to his continued involvement with TWT. Thank you for your passionate leadership and amazing energy, Duane!

A Message from Duane:

“After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the decision to step down as Artistic Director of Weekend Theater. Weekend will always be my first theater home, and I cherish the time I’ve spent there. I’ve seen the theater grow, weather storms, and have seen artists create some beautiful productions in that small blackbox space.

Duane Jackson, former Artistic Director, TWT

In a time spanning close to 25 years, 80 onstage performances, 15 shows directed, multiple hours spent in rehearsals and performances, and after 3 years as Artistic Director, it’s time for me to slow down and step aside so that the theatre can continue to grow. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for Weekend and how it will continue to evolve. The Weekend Theater opened up a whole new world for me and introduced me to an extensive network of other theater artists, whom I still love working with today, and plan to continue working with, as this is just another step in the journey.

Thanks to everyone who has ever directed, designed, worked tech, performed at Weekend, not to mention all of our fantastic volunteers. Thanks to the TWT board, staff, and our executive director for this opportunity. It has been an honor, and I’m excited to see what’s in store.”
